Very often you can run into a problem where a particular OpenCart blog does not generate SEO-friendly URLs when the SEO Pro extension is used on the site. Everyone has already gotten used to SEO Pro, since it solves a number of URL generation issues in OpenCart, so it is simply a "must-have" extension for any OpenCart store. But what should you do about non-standard blogs that do not support this useful SEO module? Many people search for other blogs that are compatible with SEO Pro, while some simply ignore the "wrong" URLs in their blog.
We decided to give you the opportunity to obtain SEO Pro adaptations for some of the blogs that our clients have encountered and asked us to adapt for SEO-friendly URLs. Of course, the work cannot be free, so some extensions are paid — for example, for the blog built into the Journal3 template — but simpler adaptations that we have already done will be published here for free.
It should be noted that we do not violate the rights of third-party blog modules and do not even modify them. The SEOPro adaptation modifier (ocmod) usually supplements only a single file — the seo_pro.php controller.
It should also be said that there are many variations of the SEO Pro extension on the web — its adaptations, fixes, improved paid versions, as well as the built-in seopro.php script in the ocStore distribution. We cannot guarantee that the modifiers we provide will work with every possible variation of SEO Pro.
SEO Pro adaptation for Journal3 Blog
It should be said upfront that we are not fans of the Journal3 template made by Indian developers, because it violates the principles of building extensions and, in fact, the codestyle of OpenCart itself. This template requires special adaptation of practically every module, which is extra work for developers. Journal3 can be called a framework that runs on top of OpenCart. However, it is popular among OpenCart users worldwide because it allows for extensive customization and configuration of the look from the admin panel, despite its other drawbacks. The blog in this template also has a non-standard structure and does not work with SEO PRO friendly URLs, so we created an adaptation for it.
SEO Pro adaptation for Octemplates Blog
The blog built into the Octemplates templates supports SeoPro from ocStore and the paid SlaSeoPro version. But for some reason it does not support the basic free SEO Pro from which all of these derived versions originated. Since we made such an adaptation for one of our clients, we are publishing it here for free.
SEO Pro adaptation for OptimBlog
OptimBlog is a popular free open-source blog for OpenCart, however it does not have an adaptation for working with SEO-friendly URLs in SEO Pro. We solved this problem by creating a modifier.
SEO PRO fix for Blogger
The fix for the Blogger module allows you to add a parent directory (for example, /blog/) to the article URLs of this blog.
How to install this blog adaptation?
To install the adaptation, you need to upload it via the extension installer in the admin panel, refresh the modifications cache, and clear the system cache.
