Redis Object Cache for OpenCart

$29.22

Description

OpenCart uses file-based caching by default, which becomes a bottleneck as the catalogue grows. Every category or product page request generates dozens of database queries — even for data unchanged for hours. Redis stores this data in RAM and serves it 10–100x faster than the file system or database.

We connect Redis Object Cache to OpenCart and ocStore taking into account PHP version, server configuration, and existing caching modules. This is one of the most effective performance improvements without codebase changes.

What We Do

  • Redis server installation and configuration (if not installed)
  • PHP extension installation: phpredis or predis
  • OpenCart configuration to use Redis as cache driver
  • Compatibility check with PHP 8.1 / 8.3 and active modules
  • TTFB measurement before and after to confirm the effect

Typical Results

On stores with a catalogue of 500+ products on a standard VPS, Redis reduces category page generation time 3–5x and API response time 5–10x. The effect is most noticeable under concurrent load from multiple sessions.
